Machine Room Elevators

• Traction Elevator are lifted by ropes, which pass over a wheel attached to an motor above elevator Shaft.
• They are used for mid and high-rise application.
• A concenter weight makes the elevators more efficient by offsetting the weight of the car & occupants so that motor doesn’t have to pull as much weight.

Geared Traction Elevators have a gearbox that is attached to the motor, which drives the wheel that moves the rope.

Gearless Traction Elevators have the wheel attached directly to the motor. Gearless traction elevators are capable or speeds up to 1m/s.

Geared traction elevators are optimum solution in terms of initial cost, ongoing maintenance costs and energy consumption.
